Until June 14, there is still the opportunity to view the newest paintings of Yolanda Shashaty at Art 101.
In her own words, “My new work combines nature and abstraction…nature for its inspiration and universality and abstraction for the freedom to take nature where I want to go.” Yolanda Shashaty has exhibited in many galleries around the country. She was represented in the CONTEMPORARY ENVIRONMENT exhibit, staged by the Museum of Modern Art, Fairfield, Connecticut; the NEW DIRECTIONS exhibit at the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden; also A VIEW TO NATURE at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art.
The exhibition of Ellen G. Emmet “THE YEARS IN PARIS 1896-1900” continues in a separate gallery at ART 101 and may be seen by appointment.
Also available is “DEAR FEMALES,” the book that chronicles the early career of Ellen G. Emmet while she was making her way to Paris and explores her years studying there, from 1896 to 1900. The book can be ordered from ART 101.
Art 101 is open Fri – Sun, 1 to 6pm.
