Friends of East River State Park invite you to join them for their first event, WEED DAY, on Saturday August 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Under the supervision of East River State Park Manager Andrew Bogardt, we will assist park staff in beautifying the playground and surrounding areas of East River State Park.
Please get your coffee and eat breakfast before you come, and bring snacks, plenty of sunblock, and a hat with you to the event. School-age children are welcome and must be directly supervised byyou during the event. Feel free to stop by, even if it’s for half an hour – we’d love to see everyone!
This is an opportunity to meet your neighbors, learn about the history of our precious Northside, Williamsburg community-created waterfront park, discover how you can have an important role in its care, and hear more about how you can participate in our mission to make the park even more accessible, inviting and inspiring for our surrounding community.
Drinking water, gardening gloves, tools and instruction will be provided by the park.
At this point we’re planning the event rain or shine, but will send out any weather-related advisory the Friday prior to the event.”
