Tonight: City Council Debate

33rd_district_debate_flyer1 Since David Yassky is running for Comptroller, the moment is upon us to begin thinking about who will be the next City Council representative for the 33rd District. Tonight, the New Kings Democrats will hold a debate between candidates for the Democratic nomination for the 33rd City Council District, which represents Brooklyn Heights, Greenpoint; parts of Williamsburg, Park Slope, Boerum Hill. Candidates include Isaac Abraham, Ken Baer, Doug Biviano, Ken Diamondstone, Steve Levin, Jo Anne Simon, and Evan Thies. Yes, the Steve Levin who said he will begin attending meetings. The debate will be held in the Harry Van Arsdale HS auditorium on North 6th St & Roebling, from 7:00-8:30pm. If you have even a mild interest in social issues, development, noise, bike lanes, or the best street taco’s on Bedford, you should really attend, as one of the candidates debating tonight may represent you next year.

  1. Believe me, you do not want Isaac Abaham as your representative. Just look at the record of the Satmar community in the news.

May 2009 Japan sentences two Hasids for smuggling 90,000 ecstasy pills into Japan

Hasidic man beats 13 year old Hispanic boy in Williamsburg at Lee & Wilson St.

October 2007 Rabbi Avrohom Mondrowitz, who raped many children in the late 1970′s & 1980′s fled to israel in 1987 and israel refuses to deport him for trial in the US.

February 2009 David Silverman and 2 other Hasids of the Satmar community lured 3 Westchester girls aged 14 and 15 into a warehouse and raped them.

The Satmar community is a very closed-mouth community. What hits the news is just the tip of the iceberg. And remember the Crown Heights affair where 2 Hasids run down a black child? The Hasid ambulance arrived, ignoring the dying black boy and gave aid to the Hasid driver & passenger of the vehicle. So what do you think Isaac Abraham will do for you?

For such a small population they have a very LARGE record of bad deeds. They are clearly more a quasi-criminal organization that a religious sect.
