How to Help Victims of Oklahoma Tornado

Here are a few places to donate. We’ve included a recommendation from our neighborhood’s Ann Kansfield, Pastor of the Greenpoint Reformed Church at 138 Milton Street (from her FB page) at the end of the post.

“Looking for a way to help respond to the tornados in OKC? Along with holding all the folks there in prayer, I’m making a donation to the Cimarron Alliance Foundation, which operates the LGBT center in OKC. They’ve been distributing water all day and are making plans for the next phase of the relief efforts. I prefer to give to smaller organizations rather than the Red Cross, because the small ones can be nimble in their response and also don’t get the spotlight as often. Plus, I know that Executive Director Rev. Scott J. Hamilton will invest my money wisely in the people he serves. Here’s their website: Cimmaron Alliance.
