Titularly yet tentatively, this three-person exhibition is about psychedelic mushrooms, but only one piece depicts toadstools. That work is Chris Martin’s “Untitled” (2013), a freestanding vinyl screen, more than 15 feet wide and 10 feet tall, portraying a woman foraging in the woods.
Best known as a performance and video artist who dabbles in occult mythology, Micki Pellerano demonstrates talent as a draughtsman in this exhibition of allegorical drawings. While Pellerano’s style carries on the classical tradition of idealized bodily form, much of his iconography comes from Rosicrucian mysticism.
Tonight, Dave Herman relinquishes his post as President of the City Reliquary museum and civic organization. Taking over from Herman will be Bill Scanga, who currently serves as Vice President of Collections. Herman will pass the torch to Scanga in a celebration at the museum, 370 Metropolitan Avenue.
